Meet Tracey!

Tracey Osterman is a Marin County family, senior, newborn, and branding photographer based in Novato, known for creating photographs that feel natural, connected, and unmistakably like the people in them.

Tracey’s years as an elementary school teacher give her the unique ability to connect with children. That experience shapes everything about the way she photographs families. She knows kids aren’t meant to stand still and smile on command. She knows when to give a little direction, when to turn something into a game, and when to simply step back and let a moment unfold. Her sessions are relaxed and easygoing, with plenty of room for movement, laughter, personality, and the wonderfully imperfect moments that make a family yours.

Tracey believes the photographs that become most meaningful aren't always the perfectly posed ones. They're often the way your child reaches for your hand, the laugh between siblings, or the expression you recognize immediately because you've seen it a thousand times at home. Her goal is to preserve those little pieces of family life before they quietly change.

A longtime Marin resident, Tracey knows the landscapes of Marin and Sonoma almost as well as she knows kids. She photographs families and seniors among the golden hills, beaches, redwoods, and other beautiful Northern California locations that give her work its warm, relaxed feel. She also photographs newborns in the comfort of home and works with local professionals and small businesses to create approachable, personality-driven branding imagery.

Tracey is also a mom of two teenagers, so she knows firsthand just how quickly the stages you think you'll remember forever become the ones you wish you could revisit.
For her, photography isn't about creating a perfect version of your life.
It's about noticing how good the life you're living right now already is.
